Using different drawing techniques on toned ground

In this video I use dry pastel sticks on toned paper to show how to render a figure. The figure is depicted by using negative space to pull out the subject and then blocking in shadows and lights using burnt umber for the darks and white for the lights. I then draw over the figure using cross-contour lines with a charcoal pencil.
